Behind the Camera

Sian has always found magic in the art of capturing one moment in time, to have and to hold for eternity.

Her talent is natural and nurtured from over 30 years of documenting images, expressions, actions and events that otherwise may have passed without regard. Her dedication to her craft, her ability to see the art in fleeting moments and to capture the magic of those moments makes her an original - there is no one quite like her. Your images will reflect her uniqueness of spirit, her flair for creativity, and her skill behind the camera.

She credits the influences of masters such as Eve Arnold, whose endless fascination for life around her was often portrayed with wit and humour, and Yousuf Karsh whose works demonstrate that to make enduring photographs one must learn to see with the mind’s eye, for the heart and mind are the true lens of the camera.

Eliza filmed her first professional wedding video at the age of sixteen.

Her company, Solo Productions was created soon afterwards and her passion for romance, glamour, chivalry and nostalgia fueled her entrepreuneurial spirit. Eliza brings her youth along with local, national and international awards for her film and video work. An accomplished videographer and director, she has produced documentary and promotional videos for companies like ICBC, Legal Services Society, the United Way and Island J.A.D.E Society, just to name a few. As a certified wedding and event planner, Eliza’s outgoing and candid approach helps her connect with many young couples, their families and their guests. Children and pets love her. Working closely with our clients, Eliza finds the drama, the joy, the humour, and the tenderness of their celebration to create an intensely personal memory.

Together, Eliza and Sian are an experienced team, each bringing a unique strength to the session. Eliza will direct your photographic session as events unfold with a creative yet sensitive approach - a quality rare in photo-journalism - while Sian records the nuances and art in the special fleeting moments,
capturing them in a
photograph that will live forever.
